Making the Invisible Visible: A History of the Spitzer Infrared Telescope Facility (1971–2003)

This e-book makes visible the invisible forces that managed the design of Spitzer Space Telescope. The history, development, construction and launch are detailed. It discusses the use of a space-based infrared telescope that had been sending back data ranging from planets beyond the solar system to dust too faint to be observed from Earth. It was launched on Monday, 25 August 2003, from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida.
